Seven-year-old, Lilah has struggled all her life with an extremely rare genetic disorder that is destroying nerve cells in her brain and spinal cord. She is one of only 10 people in the US with this disease – but she has beaten the odds by her will to stay alive and and has outlived her life expectancy by a couple of years. Knowing her fragile body may give out at any time, her loving parents thought a road trip with her brother and extended family members would be a wonderful wish for them. An opportunity to enjoy one another 24/7 as they discovered sites along the way. Originally, they intended to drive to California this summer, but Mom reached out a few weeks ago and told us that Lilah’s condition has progressed and they wanted the wish to take place quickly. California now seemed too far away and they looked at a map and selected St. Louis so they could make it easier on Lilah by having shorter bouts of travel-time with plenty of stops along the way. Wishes & More made arrangements for all of the fun activities and took care of the van rental, lodging, meals and fuel with less than a week’s notice!
Grandma and Grandpa, Aunts and Uncles and Lilah’s immediate family loved having the opportunity to travel together and enjoy the sights of St. Louis in early March. They visited the zoo, the Children’s Museum and, of course, the Arch! Mom shared photos of the trip and shared with us, “Thank you and the staff at Wishes & More so much from the bottom of our hearts for making this trip possible. You guys are rockstars! We had a great time on this road trip and was able to explore so much with Lilah and make new memories with her. Attached are some photos to share. We are forever grateful to Wishes & More!”
