Willow

Meet Willow! This outgoing, creative girl loves being in front of a crowd – whether she is singing, dancing or acting in a play, she is the life of the party. Despite her daily struggles with a gamut of spinal and bladder issues and constant monitoring for recurring infections, Mom describes her as “brave, happy & bubbly.” When our volunteer Wish Wizards met with Willow, she had a hula skirt and ukulele ready as a clear indication that she was laser focused on what she had been dreaming about – a trip to Hawaii. She talked about wanting to learn to surf, collect sea shells and attend a luau and just a few weeks ago, her wish came true! Mom, Dad, sister – Addison, and Grandma also joined in the fun by paying her own fare, and they all enjoyed VIP treatment from start to finish. Delta made the family feel incredibly special with SkyClub access and greeters at each airport. In true Hawaiian fashion, they were greeted with leis upon arrival in Honolulu and a limousine ride to their resort – the beautiful Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. They couldn’t say enough about the pools and the beach – Willow took a surf lesson and then watched the more experienced surfers take on 40’ waves! They also enjoyed a Moana activity experience, a family day at Rainbow Reef where they all took a turn at snorkeling, and a Luau (of course)! Willow’s mom told our wish team that the trip was absolutely amazing in every way possible, and every single part was Willow’s favorite! We hope the warm memories of her wish come true last a lifetime!
