Little Sara was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in November of 2004, about a month after celebrating her 3rd birthday. Sara was born with Down Syndrome and the extra chromosome endeared her to all who knew her. She radiated love and charm and her diagnosis was a huge blow to the entire family. As Sara endured her treatments, a family friend told them about Wishes & More which allowed positive thoughts to develop into a plan for a family vacation to Disney World! In February 2006, Sara smiled her way through the parks and was overjoyed as she experienced her wish come true! We are happy to report that 17 years later in June of last year, Sara also smiled her way through her high school graduation ceremony at Lakeville North HS and immediately began her post-secondary education at Beyond Limits – a specialized campus for students with developmental disabilities. Wishes & More is proud to support her education in this 2-year program where she will learn independent living skills and job coaching to obtain gainful employment. We are honored to be able to support precious memories for families facing unimaginable diagnoses – and equally grateful to celebrate & support each wish child who uses our unique Scholarship funding for their higher education.
