Pierce is an eighteen-year-old struggling with myotonic dystrophy, a genetic condition that causes his muscles and organs to weaken seriously and progressively- especially his heart. His condition has depressed his energy-levels and health so much that he missed out on a full semester of his senior year of high school. However, he graduated in January and looks forward to using his Scholarship of Hope in college! Pierce loves Harry Potter, Psych, video games, and has a cat named Gatsby – but most of all, he absolutely loves sports. His top wish was to travel to Tampa Bay to experience a Buccaneers Game and receive MVP treatment! We worked with the Bucs to provide him with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Raymond James Stadium with his family, where he was surprised with a swag bag of Buccaneers paraphernalia in the locker room (including signed merch from his favorite players Brady, “Gronk,” and Evans), and viewed a special video message from the G.O.A.T himself – Tom Brady! On gameday, he sat in The Gronk Spike Zone to cheer on his favorite football team as they took on the FL Panthers… and happily watched them dominate! We were thrilled to send Pierce on this once-in-a-lifetime trip!
