Wishes & More had the pleasure of surprising one of our wish kids with his Wish Reveal at our Fall Beer & Wine Sampling Event. Thirteen-year-old Max reluctantly agreed to be introduced as a “Wish Kid” in front of our 120+ attendees. He’s a very shy young man – unless he is on a baseball, football or lacrosse field or on the ice in his spotlighted position on his Champlin Park Hockey team. He is the team’s netminder and in the middle of last season, he was forced to give up his net and hang up his skates, when he was diagnosed with a stage four, rare liver cancer. This kid is a true fighter and his focus was to battle back and return to the ice this season. But as kids do – he grew out of his equipment and when Wishes & More volunteers met with him, he shared that his number one wish was for Goalie Equipment. Never did he think he’d receive an entire set of new equipment! And to make it extra special, a MN Hockey Goalie Legend, Robb Stauber assisted us with the presentation and even promised him a private lesson at his training center, Stauber’s Goalcrease!
