Enjoy an update on Kellen’s journey “After the Wish!” Kellen’s parents reached out to Wishes & More in 2018 as he was enduring a hard-fought battle with a brain tumor, meningitis, a stroke and all of the terrible side effects of these unimaginable diagnoses.  This six-year-old’s wish was very simple – he wanted to golf.  This little guy could hit the ball with oomph and take it for a ride, and he also had a great short game. After hearing about his wish and everything he’d been through, we were happy to connect with our friends at Madden’s who set up an incredible long weekend for this family of three to enjoy multiple rounds of golf at the beautiful courses in the Brainerd Lakes area. We recently spoke to his Mom and she recalled his wish with reverence and joy.  She also shared an update on Kellen and, guess what…he still loves golf!  His family moved to North Carolina so he gets the opportunity to golf a lot and has participated in multiple Drive-Chip-Putt contests – even winning first place for chipping and putting and second for driving in one contest alone!  He continues to enjoy watching the pros in action and has been to several PGA tournaments in the area.  At a recent event, Kellen was able to attend a practice round with JT Polston who also invited him “inside the ropes” to walk the course with him on the 18th hole at The Wyndham Championship. Sadly, we learned that in 2022, Kellen’s brain tumor began to grow again and he endured an additional surgery and ICU hospital stay, but for now his condition is stable. She also said that he LOVES baseball, but due to his loss of vision in one eye, the only baseball they are giving a thumbs up to is in the backyard with Dad.  She summed it up by saying,  “We are so proud of him and continue to be amazed at his abilities each and every day. Kellen is our miracle and blessing.”  He’s still the happiest on the golf course and we’re happy to have been a part of his journey!
