Meet Henry, an 18-year-old athlete and active teen from Stillwater. When he began experiencing wrist pain, everyone assumed it was related to baseball. No one expected the shocking diagnois - cancer! After beginning treatment, Henry was hospitalized with a severe infection, which led to the removal of his lung. This kid has been through the ringer, but he hasn’t lost his adventurous spirit. He still loves sports and the outdoors and has a passion for nature and animals. As he spent some time envisioning his wish, Henry knew he wanted to experience a part of the world and see places that may not always exist as they do today. He ultimately chose a trip to Australia!
In July, the anticipation was in the rear view and he was off! With family friends in Perth serving as the perfect tour guides, Henry and his family set out on an Australian adventure, renting a campervan and exploring the country together. The highlight for Henry was something he had been looking forward to from the very beginning: swimming with whale sharks!
For Henry’s family, this trip meant even more. After everything they endured during his diagnosis, treatment and lung removal —when they didn’t know what the future would hold, they were finally able to experience the joy of a wish, travel across the world together, and create memories that will last forever.
