Meet Emma! She’s a happy 11-year-old from North Branch who loves nothing more than swimming! In fact, she had her mind made up on a pool wish even before we met with her. She’s a little fish in the water and her medical team shared that it is great therapy for her and fulfills her need for low-impact exercise. Emma’s parents have been taking her to swimming lessons for the past few years and she told our volunteers that she’d also love to be able to practice at home. She really wants to become a strong swimmer and working on her physical strength through water exercises will help stave off the crippling effects of her condition, so we set to work on creating a little Wishes & More magic for this cheerful young lady with her wish for an above ground pool!
The goal was to have the pool installed and filled by Emma’s 11th (GOLDEN) birthday in September; however, the install was delayed, so our friends at Urban Air helped save the day! They offered Emma’s family an Urban Air Birthday Party and Nothing Bundt Cake Maple Grove threw in the delicious birthday treats for everyone to enjoy. You can see by her smile that she and her adoring family had a blast! She even showed off her new-found ability in climbing up the walls at the adventure park! Special thanks to The Maddy Nelson Walleye Fishing Tournament for adopting Emma’s wish! We’re all hoping that this is a wish that will keep on giving as it helps Emma to grow physically and emotionally strong by working on her swimming in her own backyard!
