Cody

Cody has been in and out of the hospitals since he was just a toddler, experiencing multiple medical issues, including uncontrolled seizures. His complex diagnoses have continued to follow him and have affected more than just his physical body. Mom shared that his health issues have resulted in having him miss a lot of normal life – school, social activities, sports, etc. However, when our wish wizards met Cody, he was full of enthusiasm and clearly shared his #1 wish to meet the special teams members of the Minnesota Vikings and attend the Vikings/Bengals game. Once again, the Minnesota Vikings went over the top to assist WAM in fulfilling Cody’s wish to the max. Andrew DePaola, Vikings long-snapper, started out by filming a special video for Cody that we shared at the Golf Classic this past July, indicating that his wish was coming true this Fall. And he fulfilled his promise by meeting Cody at a Saturday practice in September and introducing him to Will Reichard (kicker), and Ryan Wright (punter). Cody wants to be a kicker, and they gave him pointers, but they also treated him as a friend they wanted to get to know. He also met Coach O’Connell, called some plays to the QB, learned how to “griddy,” and got a ball signed by the team. The following day was game-day and his new buddies pulled out a win against the Bengals, but not before he gave them a pep talk on the sidelines before the game. Will Reichard even broke the team record for the longest field goal during the game! We can’t imagine a better experience for our friend, Cody and can’t thank our MN Vikings enough for helping us grant this incredible wish!
