Five-year-old Amir suffered a devastating stroke in 2018, leaving him with many physical and mental disabilities. This little guy is full of laughs despite his difficulties, and his big smile will melt your heart.
We put out a call to our friends on social media earlier this year to encourage some help in making Amir’s wish as amazing as possible. When we interviewed his mom about a wish, she said she’s been wanting to redo his then plain purple bedroom. Since Amir has been through so much and is her “true superhero,” she thought it only fitting for him to have a superhero-themed bedroom! She said, “I know Amir might not really know or understand his wish, but I think every child deserves a great bedroom.” We turned to our supporters to assemble and grant this wish, and the end product did NOT disappoint! Thanks especially to our good friends, The Brubers, along with the Northwest Suburban Optimist Youth Activities Club, we had the support necessary to paint, decorate, and transform Amir’s bedroom into a Superhero’s Paradise. He now has red, gray, and blue walls, more storage for medical supplies, new curtains and shelving, therapy toys to work with, and he is surrounded by his fellow superheroes!
We completed Amir’s bedroom earlier this year, but our wonderful volunteer Heather recently visited him to snap some pictures of the family and his new bedroom. They have loved the room and want to pass along their thanks to everyone that was a part of his wish. Many thanks to all of our Wishes & More superheroes and sidekicks who helped bring this wish to life!
