Henry

Henry was a typical teenager from Apple Valley who enjoyed all types of outdoor and sporting activities - swimming, baseball, hockey, football, and especially fishing - until an incredibly scary incident changed everything. In a freak accident, Henry fell while sleepwalking and sustained very serious spinal cord and head injuries. He required immediate surgery to stabilize his spine, and his brain suffered a fracture and concussion. His initial prognosis was paralysis, a feeding tube, and a catheter for the remainder of his life.  But Henry didn’t let that prognosis hold him back, and he spent his time at Children’s ICU and many months of inpatient care at Gillette, surpassing every challenge with pure grit and a determined mindset.  His medical team has been blown away by the strides that he has been making. Henry's goal is to get back to doing the things he loves outdoors, and his wish is helping him get back to fishing!  He received his Tracker electric fishing boat and has spent numerous hours on the water ever since!  His family shared, “This gift is more than a boat—it represents resilience, hope, and the chance for Henry to keep doing what he loves.”  Best wishes to Henry as he continues to heal and beat every obstacle that comes his way!
