Fifteen-year-old Seirra has led a very medically complex life. She is nonverbal and non-mobile; however, she loves music, lights and textures. Even though she’s not new to hospital settings, it was a huge blow when earlier this year, this young lady from Eau Claire contracted a life-threatening virus, resulting in an extended stay at Children’s Minneapolis. During this stay, her loving adoptive parents learned about Wishes & More from a social worker and they reached out to apply for a wish for Seirra. We were happy to do what we could do grant something special for her and her parents helped us determine that her #1 wish would be to experience a private concert by her favorite artist, Wisconsin born, runner-up on The Voice, Chris Kroeze. We were able to connect with him and he agreed to perform at the family cabin in New Auburn! Seirra had the front-row seat and enjoyed a comfortable and intimate backyard concert with her closest friends/relatives. The wish was magical and Mom relayed, “Seirra was all smiles with her head swaying to music. Seirra also LOVED the up close attention from Chris Kroeze and family and friends. Great music and human interactions/connections gave Seirra one of her best days ever! Thank you Wishes & More!!!” Music has been a tremendous source of joy for Seirra, so this incredibly unique wish was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both Seirra and her loved ones.
