In February 2024, Wishes & More granted a wish for Rhys, an avid outdoorsman who feels most at home out on the water and surrounded by nature. Living with Class IV heart failure and cystic fibrosis, he’s faced more challenges than most—but that hasn’t stopped him from pursuing what he loves. Rhys’ wish was for a boat allowance and he purchased a 2002 Skeeter SX190. Since then, it’s become more than a wish—it’s brought joy, connection, and unforgettable memories. Rhys shared, “I’ve taken it around quite a bit, and I fished a league one summer and joined a new one this year with even more lakes. I’ve taken trips to Vermillion, brought friends out for their first time fishing, and even helped my buddy catch his first smallmouth.” We’re also proud to share that Rhys is continuing to chase his career goals through our Scholarship of Hope®! He is currently attending Central Lakes College, studying welding. He’s enjoying classes and reported that he made the Dean’s List last semester and is loving his program! Stories like Rhys’s are one of the reasons we created Wishes & More – so that our Minnesota kids can have their outdoor adventure wishes granted. Congrats, Rhys!
