At just three-years old Raphael took his last breaths in the arms of his parents. He suffered an extensive brain injury during his birth that was not identified until 24 hours later. The doctors rushed him to surgery but did not cure the damage the brain injury had caused – resulting in poor vision, breathing problems and impaired communication skills. For years, Little Raphael endured multiple hospital stays and intense seizures and developed acute Kidney failure. His family knew Raphael’s time on earth would be cut short, so they were determined to make it memorable! From trips to the Minnesota Zoo, Minnehaha Falls and a visit from Victor, the Minnesota Viking’s Mascot, Raphael and his parents were able to check numerous items off his “Bucket List”. Raphael never had the opportunity to experience a wish but Wishes & More was able to provide his family with a memorial grant to use in his memory – which they plan to use to visit Disney World in the near future with Raphael’s two siblings.
