Pie

Pie is a seven-year-old from Becker who is the youngest child of five kids.  As you can see from their photo, she is obviously adored by her older siblings and her parents.   Battling T-Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, her blood counts have been a concern and have even pushed back some of her treatments.  Wishes & More volunteers met with this sweet family to talk about potential wishes and as an ice-breaker they brought over some McDonalds french fries, in addition to her Wish Gift Bag, because her parents noted on her application that they were her favorite treat!  Her parents told us that she wasn’t feeling well on the day of the interview, but her eyes lit up when they started talking about a Disney Wish!  In fact, anytime the volunteers brought up Disney or a character such as Mickey, Minnie, Big Hero 6, Elsa & Anna……she would get the biggest smile on her face. After a couple setbacks due to her blood counts, Pie and her family set off to Florida to enjoy all of the parks and Give Kids the World Village.  When she returned from her wish trip, her parents told us how magical it was for the entire family.  Pie’s favorite parts were Universal, Magic Kingdom, and ringing in the New Year watching fireworks in front of Cinderella’s castle.  We hope the memories of her trip help her keep smiling as she continues her treatments this month.
