We granted Nolan’s wish just in time for the holidays! He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury at daycare just over two years ago, and his life hung in the balance. Thankfully, the quick actions of his parents brought him to the hospital, where his medical team was forced to remove a portion of his skull to reduce brain swelling and placed him in a medically induced coma. He was only six months old at the time, and he spent a month in the hospital having multiple surgeries and procedures. However, his recovery didn’t end there. Among his current therapies is a cast on his left arm to help him learn to use his right a bit more. This resilient little boy was quick to find his smile again and continues to work hard in therapy and at play! Nolan is two and a half now and is quite the mover. We granted the perfect wish for a wiggly guy like him: a playset! It gives him countless opportunities to practice his motor skills and to simply have fun, be a little kid, and make memories with his family. The playset was installed just before the week of Thanksgiving, and he and his sister are loving it. Even after all the snow, they love spending time outside – especially now that the slide is a bit icy and makes them fly down it even faster than before! We are so inspired by Nolan, and we hope you are too!
