Maryanna is a very silly, talkative and outgoing four-year-old from Sartell. This little lady has Retinoblastoma which will result in tumors throughout her life. She’s already had several rounds of chemo, multiple MRIs, and continuous eye exams in her short life so she’s very used to speaking independently with her doctors and nurses. Thankfully, she’s doing great right now, but she will continue with MRIs and eye exams to catch anything new as early as possible. When our volunteers met with Maryanna, she talked about her love of animals – particularly moose and elk. She also shared that she loves singing, dancing and theme parks. I bet you can guess where she went on her wish… Disney World!! 😊 This young family had a blast at the parks and the thing she loved most was her “house” at Give Kids the World Village! They spent their days at all the parks and were having such a great time they missed their flight home. What could have been a disaster for someone else, was an opportunity for more fun for this young family who turned it into an extension of their incredible adventure by renting a Jeep and winding their way home! They enjoyed driving up the coast and stopping at beaches, they celebrated Mother’s Day on the border of Florida and Alabama, and they made it an experience they’ll never forget. Sending this amazing family our best wishes for continued A+ eye exams and no more cancer for their amazing little girl!
