No one thinks about starting a New Year in response to a diagnosis of cancer. But in January of 2024, that was what Kyah faced by receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at Masonic Children’s Hospital. Just like many other teens, she loves playing sports, going shopping, reading, writing, & watching movies; however, her most favorite thing is to spend time with friends and family. After six months of intense chemo and tons of hospital time, she finally heard the best news ever – last round of chemo, cancer free and time for a wish-come-true with her support crew of three brothers and parents. A tropical vacation was just what the doctor ordered, especially after enduring the nervousness and anxiety of her six-month scan. Although the scans never get easier, they came back clear just in time for the whole family to board the Voyager of the Seas, ready to celebrate! The gorgeous ship became their home away from home for five days and they soaked up the sun in the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean, making beautiful family memories at every moment. Wishing Kyah continued clear scans and blue skies ahead!
