We’re excited to periodically take a look back at past wishes and we’d like to take the opportunity to share Kelly’s journey “After the Wish!” You may remember Kelly from her on-stage debut at the Winter Ball in 2014 when she found out that her wish to go deer hunting with her favorite television huntress, Melissa Bachman was going to come true! Her tearful reaction was an emotional reminder of the uniqueness of our kids and what we do to make each wish as personal as possible. Enjoy a look back at Kelly’s wish story here!
Nine years later, Kelly is still hunting, loving and experiencing the outdoors to the max! Her wish lives on year-after-year when she returns to the Golden Triangle Whitetail in Illinois to shed hunt (search for antlers) and catch up with Melissa! Kelly used her Scholarship of Hope from Wishes & More to study Accounting at SMSU. She pivoted careers and is now a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, dedicating her life to health and fitness in an attempt to slow her progression of her debilitating medical condition Friedreich’s Ataxia. She is using her wheelchair full-time now, but it certainly doesn’t slow her down and she’s as active as ever, living an incredibly full life with her husband.
