Brody is an outdoorsy 10-year-old who suffers from a rare bone disease. His diagnosis has meant surgery and months of chemotherapy, but the family stayed strong and so did Brody! When our volunteers talked with this adventuresome kid, he had many things to say! He talked about wanting to be a cowboy and pretending to ride bulls. Then he mentioned hunting, fishing, and his interest in taxidermy. And then he said that he’s wanted to see the mountains since he was 4 years old. Whew! After considering all of the things he enjoys, Brody finally narrowed it down to a visit to Cave of Winds Mountain Park in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Brody, his younger brother and parents left on their mountain adventure in mid-October with the beautiful scenery as their backdrop of a week full of excitement! The beautiful Cheyenne Mountain Resort donated their four-night stay AND a few spa treatments for Mom & Dad to enjoy! They also did a Jeep tour around Garden of the Gods and indulged in some great food. Cave of the Winds was a must-see for the family and they also generously jumped onboard to donate the family tour! Afterwards Mom gushed, “The boys will remember this trip for a lifetime! Thank you for all of your time and dedication!! People like you make this world a better place!”
