Alexa is a strong-willed young lady who suffered a stroke and brain bleed, resulting in many months in the hospital fighting for her life. When we first connected with Alexa’s parents, she was still in critical condition and they were hopeful that she would survive to experience a wish, but her future was very uncertain. Fast-forward two months and our Wish Wizards met with this outgoing 10-year-old who talked about her dreams. She talked about Legoland, Universal Studios and Disney; she talked about educating others about her condition and creating a YouTube Channel; and she talked about her love of animals and experiencing a behind-the-scenes day at a Vet Clinic. This incredible girl who was fighting for her life just 6 months earlier, was now thinking about a career and what she’d like to experience for a wish. Wishes & More jumped into action and started planning for her number one wish of Disney. Alexa was nervous as the trip came closer – she has PTSD from her stroke, but her mom, Kayla, stated when they got onto the plane all of their stress and worries were gone. Alexa’s mom expressed how amazing it was to see Alexa laugh and smile with her sister and see her just be able to be a kid. Alexa especially loved Animal Kingdom and LEGOLAND and creating amazing, lifelong memories with her family!
