AJ’s life turned upside down at age 16 when he was diagnosed with high-grade osteosarcoma that had spread to several other bones and his lungs. This three-sport athlete wasn’t used to staying still and this devastating news marked the beginning of a long and difficult journey as he began his fight against this aggressive cancer.
Despite facing unimaginable challenges with no hint of ease, AJ has been fighting his battle with strength and positivity. He has chosen to share his story whenever an opportunity arises, providing uplifting support for other kids like him. Through it all, he has been a light and inspiration to others by being open about his medical journey. After months and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, in October 2025, his scans came back clear, and he was officially declared in remission.
To celebrate this amazing milestone, Wishes & More was thrilled to send AJ and his family on a beautiful vacation to Hawaii to fulfill his wish! In January, AJ & his family escaped the cold MN weather and flew to the beautiful island of Oahu. AJ made the most of every moment—whale watching, snorkeling, visiting Pearl Harbor, and much more. During their trip, they even ran into two other wish families who were visiting from different states!
Shortly after returning home, AJ had his routine follow-up scans, and we are so happy to report that, to their relief, they learned there was no evidence of active cancer or recurrence! Help us celebrate this amazing young man and wish him well as he focuses on his future!
