Abigail

Abigail was born two months early in July of 2020. She spent all of her days in the NICU battling a very rare heart and lung complication. Doctors worked tirelessly to get her pulmonary hypertension under control before an open heart surgery could be scheduled.  Her parents knew that their little love had a huge battle in front of her, but they were right there with her every day.  Abby has two older siblings, so they took turns being with little Abby and traveled over an hour each way to be with her as she fought for her life every day.  Sadly, at just 41 days old, Abby took her last breath and her family received a Wishes & More Memorial Grant in lieu of a wish. Her parents cherished the short time they had with her and will never forget the lasting memories they made with their little girl. To help ease their grief and to memorialize their baby, her parents created a beautiful display of Abby’s things in their hutch where they can always look and remember her. As part of our special memorial program, Wishes & More offers a specially created teddy bear for the families. The bear can be made from a blanket, shirt, or any material the parents would like to use and in Abigail’s case her parents provided the blanket that they snuggled around Abigail when she passed. This special bear will have a prime spot in this memorial hutch and we hope that every time they see this beautiful creation, the family will be flooded with the wonderful memories they have of her.
