Shay

When Shay, an eight-year-old from Watkins, was born, all seemed to be well until the night before she was to go home. Complications set in and it was determined that there was a blockage in her heart, preventing blood flow to all areas. After multiple trips to the emergency room, Shay was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease. Through all of her struggles, she remains strong, despite the bumps in the road. Shay told Wishes & More® about her dream trip to Disney World. For Shay, it was her first non-medical flight. She had a perfect week in Florida, with 80-degree weather and not a drop of rain. The whole family enjoyed the experiences of Disney and also had the chance to take a splash in the ocean. “The trip was wonderful and we enjoyed every last minute of our time there. It was a trip we will never forget,” said her mom.
