Adasyn

These past two years have been incredibly tough for Adasyn.  As the New Year bells rang in 2021, she received a devastating diagnosis of cancer.  She was told that 95% of her bone marrow cells were leukemia and to prepare herself for 2.5 years of treatments.  This resilient young lady battled through every setback and did her best to smile through the pain and discomfort. Her incredible support system was there every step of the way.  Wishes & More met Addy as she rang her end-of-treatment bell just months ago and to help celebrate, we let her know that we would support her wish to travel internationally to visit Greece!   Addy told us that she is a huge fan of Mamma Mia! and that she has dreamt about seeing the clear blue water of the Seas surrounding the stunning Greek Isles. She’s also very interested in Greek history and culture and hoped to take in as much as possible while experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime trip! Special thanks to our friends at Riverdale Travel for helping us organize an incredible vacation for this family of five!  Addy’s itinerary included a stay in Athens and an island-hopping cruise visiting Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Heraklion, and Santorini.  She kept an eye out for cats, explored the cobblestone streets, visited the house of the Virgin Mary and her wishing wall, swam in the clearest of waters, beheld the ancient Library of Celsus, the Parthenon and Olympic Stadium. After she returned from her incredible adventure, Addy shared, “This was a trip of a lifetime that I will forever be grateful for and cherish.”  Wishing this amazing young lady continued health as she looks forward to her college studies at North Dakota State University.  We can’t wait to be a part of her academic journey with our Scholarship of Hope® funding in the near future!
