Cameron

Cameron was rushed to the NICU at birth and his first 100 days of life was spent in the hospital due to a serious esophageal birth defect. He endured surgery after surgery with setback after setback in the attempt to repair his leaking esophagus before he could go home to his own nursery. We met him in 2019 when we approved his wish to see the holiday lights at Bentleyville, in Duluth, but everything was canceled when he was rushed to the hospital one week before the trip. Over the next year he received another devastating diagnosis, endured biweekly surgeries, and we ended up canceling once again. After a year of uncertainty, with both the world and Cameron’s health, Cameron’s wish changed from seeing the lights in Bentleyville to seeing the lights in Disney World. This fall his wish finally came true! One of the highlights was staying at Give Kids the World Village where they ate lots of ice cream, played Skee-ball & Cameron created his special star for the castle tower. The family also loved their time at the parks, where they enjoyed the rides for Toy Story, ET, and the Simpson’s. This Minnesota family shocked the Floridians when they didn’t hesitate to take a dip in the pool in 68-degree weather! Cameron’s dad had dreamed of going to Disney World ever since he was a child, so we are so excited to have fulfilled a generational wish! This magical trip provided four year old Cameron and his family with a well-deserved break and lifelong memories.
