Mase

Mase is an adorable 4 year old who manages to remain extremely happy and upbeat in spite of multiple medical challenges, including Neuroblastoma.  He has a port and a trach tube and requires 24-hour care from his adoring family and his full time nurses.  His original wish was to go to the Disney Parks; however, after the pandemic, his family decided that enjoying the Florida weather in a quieter spot would be a more memorable wish.  Mase loves the water and being outside so it was time for him to be able to enjoy both! Mase’s trip to visit Naples was scheduled for April; and just a few days before they were to leave, he was hospitalized with a serious sepsis infection.  His parents decided to keep the trip scheduled as planned and had faith in Mase’s own super powers to get him out of the hospital and be strong enough to travel. We sent his travel pack and wish enhancement to the hospital and Mom wrote, “They just brought the wish bags up…and oh my goodness!! I can’t stop crying!!! How incredibly generous of you!”  We already had arranged for his two nurses to be on the trip with him, but a WAM blessing occurred when it was discovered that his Dr. was going to be on the same flight as the family!  With all of the pieces in place, Mase was released just in time to have a blast with his family at the pristine beaches and on the gorgeous water.  Mase was able to wear a special suit that allowed him to be in the water with his port and the family had a great time fishing, splashing, seeing lots of wildlife, and simply having an opportunity to get away from their daily life of appointments and treatments.  We hope this little guy continues to fight hard and keep his super powers while sharing that beautiful smile with the world!
