Last November, an ambulance transported Korbin to the hospital because he couldn’t breathe and tests showed that his heart was only functioning at 23% capacity. He was soon diagnosed with Lupus disease, a condition causing his immune system to attack his own body. After about a week in the ICU, his heart made a comeback, working at 50% capacity, and he continued dialysis treatments 6 days/week. Unfortunately, Lupus is a chronic disease, so he will likely need life-long treatment. Now 12-years-old, Korbin is an avid gamer and loves all things Nintendo. When we interviewed him over the phone, he immediately wished for a Nintendo Switch and a variety of his favorite games. Wishes & More was thrilled to not only grant his wish, but also provide a memory with a special delivery of his wish! We called up our friends at the MN State Troopers Assn. and the group from Grand Rapids jumped on-board and made a special delivery of Korbin’s wish items with some flashing lights and a big surprise! What does a young teen think when vehicles with blue flashing lights appear at his home – ‘Oh, oh, am I in trouble!?’ But when he saw their smiles and the bright colored packages, his concern turned into joy and he knew his Nintendo Switch had arrived!
