Blake’s parents experienced the unimaginable in the delivery room when their son was born and unable to breathe on his own. He was immediately transferred to Children’s Hospital where they discovered a lump on his neck and, just two days later, Blake underwent surgery for a biopsy and bone marrow test. The results were Neuroblastoma and the cancerous tumor on his neck was blocking his airway. He immediately began a protocol of chemotherapy.
Treatments to shrink the growth and regular checkups continued throughout his early months and as he became more stable he was finally able to go home. His parents started the conversations with Wishes & More about potential wishes for their little guy and the decision was made to create a special playground in their backyard so that Blake could enjoy the outdoors with his big brother. Recently Blake’s wish of a backyard playground was installed and the entire family is thrilled to the max at the results! Mom sent in this sweet note shortly after the installation, “Thank you so much for every single thing you’ve done for Blake and our family and for every family and child that goes through so many scary things. I pray “Blakers” stays in remission forever and so far all of the results are showing that he’s beating it! My boys are going to enjoy this beautiful playset for many years and I can’t even begin to express my gratitude!” Wishing the amazing Blake many years of enjoyment on his wish come true!
