SUMMARY:Alan's Big Blue Bike Ride 2021
DESCRIPTION:Alan’s Big Blue Bike Ride!\nAlan is a kind-hearted young man with uncontrolled epilepsy and Tuberous Sclerosis\, which is a genetic disease that forms numerous tumors on vital organs.  While Alan cannot ride a traditional bike because of his epilepsy\, he still enjoys spending time outdoors with his parents and feeling the wind in his face.  Alan and his parents came up with the perfect wish to encompass what Alan loves!  Alan’s wish was granted in 2013 when he received an Adaptive Double Recumbent Bike so that he can now ride alongside his parents while enjoying the great outdoors. This bike has changed his whole family’s life!  They all enjoy cruising up and down the bike trails near their home and across greater Minnesota.  Alan is also on the Autism Spectrum and pretty much non-verbal\, but when he is riding on his bike he comes out of his shell! SUMMARY:Alan's (Virtual) Big Blue Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:Join us (virtually) at Alan’s Big Blue Bike Ride!\nAlan is a kind-hearted young man with uncontrolled epilepsy and Tuberous Sclerosis\, which is a genetic disease that forms numerous tumors on vital organs.  While Alan cannot ride a traditional bike because of his epilepsy\, he still enjoys spending time outdoors with his parents and feeling the wind in his face.  Alan and his parents came up with the perfect wish to encompass what Alan loves!  Alan’s wish was granted in 2013 when he received an Adaptive Double Recumbent Bike so that he can now ride alongside his parents while enjoying the great outdoors. This bike has changed his whole family’s life!  They all enjoy cruising up and down the bike trails near their home and across greater Minnesota.  Alan is also on the Autism Spectrum and pretty much non-verbal\, but when he is riding on his bike he comes out of his shell! He smiles (A LOT!)\, talks about what he sees and he loves when other people notice his bike or wave.  Alan’s Big Blue Bike is truly a wish come true\, not just for Alan\, but for his whole family!   \n \nAlan’s Big Blue Bike Ride is organized by Alan’s family and all proceeds will benefit a future wish recipient of Wishes & More!\n    \n   \nA note from Alan’s Mom:\nThis year Alan’s Big Blue Bike Ride has gone virtual\, sort of.  Because we can’t all be together we are going to use Strava to bring us all together. In celebration 7th Anniversary of Alan’s Wish being granted we are going spend seven days riding with a goal of 35 miles.  Because of Minnesota’s ever changing weather and Alan’s epilepsy some of those miles may be done singly\, on foot or stationary bike.  That’s OK! If we have learned anything in 2020 it is how to pivot.  I want to encourage you to pick a number that you wish to ride\, run or walk over these 7 days or please donate.
