Hazel

Immediately after birth, Hazel was put on a ventilator and closely monitored. Hazel was born with a diaphragmatic hernia. This scary congenital defect caused Hazel’s stomach and intestines to be moved into her chest, shifting her heart to the right, leaving little room for her lungs to develop fully. After a valiant fight, on her 66th day, Hazel’s heart rate continued to drop and fluid around her heart increased, and her parents decided that Hazel’s little body had endured enough. They spent their last night bathing, kissing, holding, singing, and preserving the last few moments with Hazel. Hazel’s mother expressed that “Hazel is in a better place now” and deeply appreciated the financial memorial gift given to them by Wishes & More.
